Interstate Power System’s is looking for experienced and certified Generator/Marine Field Service Technicians to work in a regional field position in Indiana. We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Generator/Marine Field Service Technician to join our team. We are targeting specific experience with: Volvo, Kohler or MTU Diesel generator certifications. In this role you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of marine, industrial, and power generator applications. Your expertise in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic components will be crucial in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our customers' equipment. Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting routine inspections, performing preventive maintenance, and documenting all work performed in accordance with company standards and industry regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

Diesel Mechanic/Technician Job Duties:

• Diagnose and repair Volvo, Kohler and MTU diesel generator engines, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and system inspections on all brands of generator..
• Conduct thorough inspections to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
• Troubleshoot engine malfunctions and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately diagnose engine problems.
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities performed.
• Communicate effectively with team members and customers to coordinate work and provide status updates.
• Stay current with industry trends, technology advancements, and Volvo, Kohler, and MTU product developments.

Diesel Mechanic/Technician Requirements:

• Certification as a Volvo, Kohler, or MTU Generator Technician or equivalent certification from a recognized institution.
• Proven experience working with Volvo, Kohler, and MTU diesel generator engines, preferably in marine, industrial, or power generation settings.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex mechanical issues.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, software, and equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Flexibility to work occasional overtime and weekends as needed.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
