Branch Manager

Location: Altoona, IA

Interstate Power System's location in Altoona, Iowa is looking for a Branch Manager who has experience in Fixed Operations, Parts Inventory Management, Power Generation, and/or Heavy-Duty Diesel industries.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Branch Manager to lead our Altoona branch of Interstate Power Systems. The Branch Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, driving sales growth, ensuring excellent customer service, and managing the branch’s financial performance. This role requires a dynamic leader with a strong background in diesel technology, operations management, and team leadership.

Branch Manager Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all service and sales operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way.
  • Improve operational management systems, processes, and best practices.
  • Purchase materials, plan inventory and oversee warehouse efficiency.
  • Help the organization’s processes remain legally compliant.
  • Formulate strategic and operational objectives.
  • Examine financial data and use them to improve profitability.
  • Manage budgets and forecasts.
  • Perform quality controls and monitor production KPIs.
  • Recruit, train and supervise staff.
  • Find ways to increase quality of customer service.

Branch Manager Skills/Qualities:

  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
  • A self-starter who can observe the strengths present in a location and utilize those strengths to develop a positive business plan.
  • Experience with profit and loss statements, budgeting, and basic inventory control
  • Proven background in service, sales, or business ownership
  • Clear understanding profitability, customer service, sales, and marketing

Branch Manager Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work with Service Team and Sales Team.
  • Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management
  • Experience budgeting and forecasting
  • Familiarity with business and financial principles
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Leadership ability
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Experience as a manager at this level with the ability to manage employees and processes.
  • Extensive sales experience in Power Generation preferred but not required.
  • Strong operations background
