Vehicle Technical Trainer

Location: Lakeville, MN

Interstate Companies employs over 800 technicians and we are looking to add to our Training staff. If you are a current or former Heavy Duty Diesel Truck or Equipment Technician and would like to give that knowledge you have earned back to hundreds of up and coming technicians than this is the job for you!

We are looking for an experienced Vehicle Technical Trainer for one of our two Training facilities in either Lakeville Minnesota or Butler Wisconsin. In this role you will provide technicians with the factory training they need to accomplish and sustain the highest efficiency and to continue adding to their certifications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct training at two training centers, located in Lakeville, MN and Butler, WI.
  • Schedule technical training to meet the needs of our employees and our partners, Allison, Daimler, MTU, MTU OE, Deutz and Volvo Penta.
  • Ensure that each Interstate branch follows the technical training requirements of our partners.
  • Provide technical support for all Interstate Companies branches.
  • Administer all partner online training resources.
  • Manage supplier training recognition programs, Allison Guild for example.
  • Conduct Product Familiarization classes for new Interstate Companies employees as required.
  • Develop and deliver other training programs as required.
  • Assist with recruiting technicians as required.
  • Travel up to 20 %

Qualifications:

  • 5 to 8 years technical training experience in one or more of the following: diesel engines, automatic transmissions, transport refrigeration, and power generation.
  • Previous factory certification in one or more of the following: Detroit Diesel DD engine family, Detroit Series 60, Mercedes On and Off-Highway engines, MTU engines and Allison transmissions.
  • Experience in developing training curriculum and evaluating training effectiveness.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • ASE certification and CDL a plus
